The South Florida AGC, in conjunction with Rebuilding Together Miami Dade will again this year help restore elderly housing for our citizens on fixed incomes and no means to maintain their homes. This is the mission of Rebuilding Together, which will restore several thousand homes nationwide on event day.
Where: West Perrine Neighborhood, Miami
When: Saturday April 27th, 2013
What: Contractors will be assigned a home, meet with the resident to formulate a plan and then implement that plan on event day. House Captain meeting with residents will be scheduled so they can each determine the extent of work needed and can be accomplished. A plan will then be developed.
How: With “in kind” donations from subcontractors, Corporate Sponsors, local merchants and a host of volunteer to perform basic tasks (painting, cleaning, landscape, etc)
Why: A chance to utilize our skills in giving back to the community. Many of us use it as a project management test for our young aspiring employees. This effort also serves as a tax benefit for material and labors given from you and your subcontractors. Volunteers provide lots of the effort.
Risk: None. Rebuilding Together feeds and insures all volunteers and all permits are secured.
Who: Hopefully you will join many of our brethren in the AGC to make this year’s event a terrific experience for all.
