Coastal Construction Selected to Build the $2 Billion Miami World Center Project

Congratulations to South Florida AGC Member Coastal Construction on their being selected to build the $2 billion Miami World Center project. The developers broke ground on phase-one of the retail component and on the sixty-story Paramount Miami Worldcenter Condominium.

Over sixty members of the construction community were in attendance to hear City of Miami Commissioner Francis Suarez discuss Transportation in South Florida and what projects are most likely to be seen in the future.

Demolition begins for Hurricane roller coaster in Dania Beach

A Broward landmark, the Hurricane Rollercoaster is no more. The Hurricane was the tallest wooden amusement ride in the State of Florida. The demolition is the first step in the construction of a 102 acre shopping center named Dania Pointe. The project's first phase is expected to open in the fall of 2017 and encompasses 35 acres.

Miami Beach wants to fast-track work to battle sea-level rise

The Florida Department of transportation and City of Miami Beach announced an agreement to address flooding on Indian Creek Drive with a $25 million project. The City of Miami Beach has been especially hard hit by sea-level rise and this project will focus on one particularly problematic one mile stretch. The project will take two years to complete and will address the problem using several different measures.
